DJ Southern Copper Corp Sees 2009 Copper Sales At 500,000 Tons

LIMA, Oct 23, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) --

Southern Copper Corp. (PCU) expects copper sales to reach 500,000 metric tons in 2009, up from a previous forecast of 490,000 tons, the company's chief financial officer said Friday.

Genaro Guerrero gave the increased forecast on a conference call with analysts. He cited to better ore grades and higher recovery rates.
