Alibaba B2B to Expand into Taiwan Next Year

HANGZHOU, Nov 04, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --

E-commerce giant Alibaba Group is set to launch its B2B platform in Taiwan in 2010, helping local companies wholesale semi-finished products and industrial products to Mainland China, according to David Wei, CEO of Alibaba.com Ltd. (SEHK: 1688).

Meanwhile, Alibaba Group will also facilitate Taiwan-based small and midsize companies to have retailing deals with 2 million merchants of its subsidiary Taobao.com, Mr. Wei said, adding that the e-commerce group will recruit more employees from the island to better serve local customers.
