Alon USA Energy, Inc. (NYSE: ALJ) ("Alon") today announced results for the quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. Net loss for the third quarter of 2009 was ($26.6) million, or ($0.57) per share, compared to net income of $37.3 million, or $0.80 per share, for the same period last year. Excluding special items, Alon recorded a net loss of ($26.3) million, or ($0.56) per share, for the third quarter of 2009, compared to net income of $24.3 million, or $0.52 per share, for the same period last year.
