S. KOREAN IT TRADE SURPLUS REACHES US$6.39 BLN IN OCT.

SEOUL, Nov 05, 2009 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) --

South Korea's trade surplus in information technology (IT) products amounted to US$6.39 billion in October as exports gained for a second month amid tumbling imports, a government report showed Thursday.

Exports of semiconductors, mobile phones and other IT products edged up 0.7 per cent on-year to US$12.04 billion last month, with imports contracting 10.9 per cent to US$5.66 billion, according to the report by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy.
