Monsanto Opens Biotechnology R&D Center in China

BEIJING, Nov 05, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) --

Monsanto Company (NYSE: MON) is about to open a biotechnology R&D center in Beijing, China, as it looks to speed up a business expansion in one of the biggest agricultural countries in the world.

The R&D center, set up to technologically back up the Monsanto products in China, is expected to launch primary research on bioinfomatics and genomics, cooperate with scientific research institutions in China, and share the research findings with other Monsanto R&D centers in the US, Europe, Brazil, and India, according to the US-based agricultural product heavyweight.
