National City becoming PNC on Monday

Customers of National City Bank will notice some changes when they visit their favorite branches Monday morning -- starting with the sign in front of the building.

About 80 National City branches in the Pittsburgh area will close at 4 p.m. today while the Cleveland-based bank's offices are transformed into offices of its new owner, PNC Financial Services Group, which completed its takeover of National City at the end of 2008. They will reopen at 8 a.m. Monday as PNC branches.
